Scott Steers
Founder & President
Scott's journey from marketing and business development into consulting for non-profits, particularly churches, spans over two decades. His involvement with the differently abled community began when he volunteered with school-age kids labeled as "Slow Learners." Through this experience, Scott discovered a natural affinity and skill for connecting and communicating effectively with this population. Motivated by his positive experiences, Scott founded Lucky and Blessed Fishing two years ago and the organization has already facilitated over 300 fishing adventures for individuals across six counties in Maryland.
Colin Lennon Chairman of the Board
Colin works for the Department of Defense and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He fell in love with Kayak fishing about 4 years ago and try to get out on the water whenever he has the opportunity. Colin loves fishing but kayak fishing, specifically, is his passion. He also loves making youtube videos of his fishing adventures to share with those that don't always have the time to get out on the water and go fishing.

Kathy Cadigan
Secretary
Kathy comes to us recently retired from a 25 year career with a very successful Maryland company and she played a big part in their success. Kathy was so impactful to this organization that they had to hire four people to replace her! She developed management systems and processes that not only supported this companies growth, but she also was flown around the country to share these strategies with other companies in the industry. We are incredibly Lucky and Blessed to have her here to keep us on track and assist with the back office systems and processes!

Kai is US Marine Corps veteran and experienced boat captain and has developed a strong foundation in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. His work with the Arc of Central Chesapeake has deepened his understanding of the challenges faced by neurodivergent and differently abled individuals, and has instilled in him a passion for creating inclusive and supportive communities. Through this experience, he has developed effective communication strategies and a genuine empathy for individuals with diverse needs and he is excited for this next chapter with LABF!
Christina Cachero
Founding Board Member & Event Coordinator
Christina came to us as a client first and this was due to an encounter with our Founder at a local boat launch. Scott and Kathy were going out on kayaks to target Rockfish and after catching a nice Keeper, that started a conversation at the dock. Christina filled out our contact form the next day and we had no idea the challenges that she has faced in life when we met. LABF quickly got her and Dad scheduled to fish with one of our LABF Boat Captains! She was hooked on LABF from that point and has become one of our best volunteers and has really helped us grow into the organization LABF today!

Coop currently works for the Army as a Civilian and previously as the Director of Maryland Chapter of Heroes on the Water. Heroes on the Water helps our Nation’s warriors and veterans from all branches of the United States military unwind using the therapeutic qualities of fishing from kayaks. What looks like a day trip of paddling and fishing is in fact something much deeper and long-lasting. Coop has been a great supporter and advisor to LABF and we are honored to have him on our advisory board.
Andy Schindling
Partner & Advisory Board
As a former minor league pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles, Andy is driven by a deep passion to give back to the youth in his community. After realizing that he was once a dead fish floating down stream going wherever the current took him, leaving him never to reach his full potential as an athlete, he is now dedicated to ensuring that the youth in his community find a purpose and sense of direction for their lives, so they in turn can reach their full potential. Andy has been a major advisor to LABF and we are excited about future partner opportunities with his nonprofit TCP Charity.

Skip Zinck

Skip is the founder of Wish-A-Fish and has done great work in providing boat event fishing opportunities for differently abled kids and their families and was a very positive influence as we starting developing LABF programs. Skip has been a staple at most of our boat fishing events and has also been a great help in connecting us with new partner boat Captains to help us create these special fishing events for our partner organizations. In addition to advising us on our events, WOF will be sponsoring some events for LABF in 2025 and we are so grateful for their partnership

WORKFORCE VOLUNTEERS
Michael Hoffman
LABF Angler & Volunteer
Michael came to us as a client of one of our Community Partners, Bay Community Services! We noticed an incredible passion for both fishing and people when Michael came out with his group for the first time and he immediately jumped in and started helping his community friends catch fish! Michael has had many life challenges between losing his Dad when he was very young and his Mom to a drug overdose when he was a teen, and he had some difficult times in the foster care system. Having a disability and the lack of opportunities has kept Michael from finding and keeping a job that he actually enjoys and is good at and now he is volunteering regularly and we are raising money to hire our Workforce Volunteers!

Stewart MacNaughton
LABF Angler & Volunteer
Stewart came to us as a client with our very first Community Partners, Boundless Edventures! From the first fishing adventure we had together over two years ago, Stewart showed an amazing passion for fishing and it was so great watching him grow socially through Boundless Edventures program, which we are part of!
Stewart considers himself a naturalist, as he has a vast knowledge of plants and animals and he's an Eagle Scout! We knew that Stewart would be a great fit for LABF and we were thrilled when he accepted our offer to volunteer with us! Since then he has been on many of Community Partner adventures, helping others catch fish and there's never a dull moment.. especially if there's a turtle sighting!

Quinn Lucas
Admin Support & Volunteer
Meet Quinn, one of our Lucky and Blessed Fishings "Family participants" and volunteer at LABF! Quinn and I go way back as I volunteered for a group of differently abled students at my daughters Elementary School many years ago and Quinn was in that group. Fast forward to today... Quinn and his family love fishing and we recently reconnected through LABF and with our passion for inclusion, we wanted to find a job for Quinn to be able to join the LABF Team! That said, we have a Certificate Achievement program that recognizes the fishing accomplishments of our clients and Quinn is now volunteering with us to provide these certificates to our event attendees!

MARKETING & EVENTS
Regina Seanez

Meet Regina! She is a lover of nature and all things outdoors. Regina has worked with students of all ages and has devoted her time to connect with them through their hobbies and interests. She believes that through connecting with people and building a community, it can encourage others to push their limits and create an inclusive environment. Her background in Public Relations and social media will help LABF share their passion and mission to be able to work with people with disabilities to give them experiences and opportunities that they can enjoy.
Stephanie Reay
Event Coordinator
With over 10 years of experience in sales, I’ve honed a strong ability to connect with people, understand their needs, and build lasting relationships. My passion for helping others extends beyond the workplace; I’ve had the privilege of contributing to fundraising efforts for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children in foster care.
I hold a Master’s degree in Human Relations, which has deepened my understanding of people and strengthened my commitment to fostering positive change. Whether it’s coordinating an event or providing guidance to those in need, I thrive on making a meaningful impact.
When I'm not working in my wood shop or volunteering, I’m at home with my husband, an active duty pilot, and our shared love for outdoor activities like fishing. Together with our two girls, we balance the excitement of military life with a grounding passion for adventure and connection.
